i will have to look into that book later today... So many books can apply to poker. I sort of see it as a quantitative study that somehow applies to and in life. Also I started taking better record of what I play. And not just the wins, but also the losses. Its been helping me to stay focus and actually playing much better, maybe its due to results or seeing how good or bad I do on certain games.

THANKS to questioning myself. I found what was needed. And the answer was FEAR. I feared losing. It wasnt because i was losing at that time or playing bad. It was because I didnt know what to look for or how to look for it. I feared the idea of taking that 1st step, it never crossed my mind to what I was doing . This whole time Im playing cards , but it never worked because I never took the time to take the step towards the right path because I didnt allow myself to believe in the idea, because of fear. Starting over. fresh clean. $0.00. NO money in no accounts. I want this. I been here before, but now its approachable.

The thing that held me back was deposits, little deposits. putting in never enough effort just because it was safe. Thats like buying in shortstack already at a table when you know you gotta Auto up and be able to handle 3 buy-ins a session. So i havent played except for freerolls, which i dont mind. I been more occupied on treating the long term process, which is treating online poker like work . I use to be a cash analyst at commodities firm and believe, its no different. The only thing is your not playing with peoples money, its yours and you gotta get it in at the right price and sell out so you can keep doing it again and invest into bigger markets and being able to liquidate assets without hitting margin call. So being a poker player is like a broker. Your just investing into your own business and finding ways to profit for yourself. I guess the foundation on starting my own business being executed like i want it. Gotta make sure I got all the right fundamentals, supplies, softwares, knowledge, experience, all of that before I make the initial deposit and know what Im going to get into.

    GOOD CALL on the market.

Another factor to add is confidence, as the saying goes "scared money, is dead money".

I am impressed by your dedication to analyze and dissect your play, what works and what doesnt. Then act on that data and import into your game.

main ingredient to success is patience, patience and more patience;lol . also u have to find your "ZONE" if the adjective "too" describes your play there is prolly something wrong. experience will tell you when to play loose or when to be tight ."too" tight, loose ,cautious, bold,or agressive usually ends in mix match study opponents etc and i like the "find your niche thought" it is confidence as nfi posted is very important i dont get scared after losing a big pot i have made a comeback many times .dont "TILT" after a bad beat just continue with your good you dont always win with the best starting some ppl will call with anything and sometimess the software or cards reward them .just a couple of thoughts hope they help

i have tried to bankroll, but i didnt do the right thing when i should have. i lended out money to my friends. i used money i won towards rewarding myself with things. but thats ok, you get a sense of being able to have somethign for yourself. being able to know you can do that is always important but i wasnt really financial ready for poker and just saw it in a nitty way. i havent lost over 1000.00 or anything near that factor. maybe a few hundred once. and 100 here and there.

well imo it seems u have to make a decision as to what u want with poker and where u want it to take you im just a social player i like to dream of WSOP; But i havent made a concious decision to go for it (yet) lmao.i enjoy my poker games i "dont" think of it as a job .i started as a freeroll whore but i like the added buyins and the camaraderie it brings .i am probably still a freeroll whore at heart though i detest those network freerolls

i know exactly how that feels Rogue, but every player has their breaking point or want more for themselves. I have always wanted to do more, but its something i had to learn slowly this year. last year was terrible, i almost gave up poker, my relationship ended with my girlfriend, and i was at the breaking point. Somehow i manage to stay focus and try to pursue finishing up school, but my head was never there, i was always reading cardplayer and taking notes down AK or pockets jacks when i should have been listening to my professor. I had to look pass my emotions and just say screw it. do what you want , what makes you happy and i found myself back at playing online when there was no one else to hang out with. but despite those hard times, i started off this year with goals and trained physically through hard times when it should have just been simple. I admire my courage alot, and its a great feeling knowing im succeeding slowly.i just posted a thread on my goals for the coming year.. Write down the goals and what you want from poker and in return, you will earn more than you expected. its a new humble beginning journey for me as a poker player, and i hope i can help others achieve their goals..

reading my post , sounds like Mike McD... i did have a friend who was exactly like worms, always trying to cheat people and snake others. i saw this guy the other day out of the blue. ill say that he was lucky to have a great friend like me, and I have no regrets walking away from that. There were times, i took him to play cards and buy him in, even tried to help him get good at it, guy never saw it that way. so thats that. ROUNDERS 2 anyone know when its gonna be out.

Tilt can take a toll and blind a player from realizing how good he is. For me, the confidence in life was poker. I loved the game, i loved teaching and talking about it to my close friends. i liked knowing i can do it. seeing it can benefit more and not let the appeal as a bad thing. They say how you carry yourself in life is how you carry yourself in poker. if you can admit to losing, you can admit to fear, if you can admit to fear, you can overcome anything. also i found that i was less patient now then i was 2 months where i was doing better and staying in shape. also managing my time on what i want to get into is going to factor in better results, i really hate being mentally drained for playing hours and doing it everyday, its better to just get my mind off cards or take my time studying and be inspired by knowledge. i notice everytime i studied, i always benefited from winning and taking home big wins.
