Looks like it's also on Carbon's sister skin, Aced Poker.
For the Freeroll Fury purposes, raked hands is dealt. For earning player points purposes, it is contributed.
I know I earned my 25 raked hands, only going in about 8 hands, and the meter said I was
in 46 raked hands for the Freeroll Fury. For player points, I still had 0 player points for the day.
Funds on Carbon are not an issue. And I did pick up a few bucks in one of the early Furys using the free ticket they gave everyone to start.
But, I generally have a policy of not turning a freeroll into a buy-in. If I find a cash game that interests me enough to play on it's own then
I will probably make sure I'm in long enough to make the minimum hand count as long as I'm basically breaking even or better.
The real temptation to me, if there is one at all, is that the field sizes seem to be shrinking as the promotion goes on and other people stop
chasing entry coupons. So, the money for cashing looks better.
I would do the $1 sitngo double or nothing 5 games to qualify for a freeroll fury coupon, but I prefer the ring games more, so it is 25 raked hands route for me.
Yep, that would do it, but would need to cash about 3 of them to not be losing money on qualifying. Not impossible, but it
is a %-age that is above almost everybody's average. And you're probably talking about 5 hours or so total for the games?
[Multi-SnGing could help with the time suck, I suppose, if there are enough running.]
Seems the more time efficient route with better potential money-wise trying to qualify.
Interesting. I was just checking my Player Admin at Carbon to see what they had tracked for me in regard to the Freeroll Fury promotion.
Much to my surprise they appear to count freeroll tournaments played towards the five needed to qualify on any day. Apparently the "any
stakes" clause of the qualifying criteria with regards to tournaments includes "free". Was not expecting that.
Gave the cash game route a try today playing $0.02/0.04 PLO H/L. Waiting on the 15:00 EST Player Admin update, but, if all is as I think it should be,
I should have qualified for a coupon for the grand sum of $0.38 [lost a little playing] + $0.07 paid in rake on pots won; effectively $0.45. Will be more than recouped with
a min-cash in the Fury tournament if I can. . .
