Exclamation Time to speak up before its too late

I want to bring up a few things which are open for discussion and I do hope that members/mods will throw in their two cents and offer their opinions and be honest about what they reply with. I need to know where I stand with the members, the forum and what the future direction could or should be. Without input from those that matter, being YOU, I or the mods can not try to fix or address the problems.

The mods and I want to know how we can improve your time here, what you would like, how we can improve buyin and freeroll participation numbers and what is needed for members to be posting on this forum especially poker related topics. Are the games not enough financially, wrong times, wrong days, wrong variations, or something else?

Is there not enough content on the forum to get you involved, do you feel you will not get enough feedback on a hand, do you feel we do not have enough experienced players to help you, is the forum **** compared to others you post on, what gets you posting on another forum but not here, not enough ring or variation posts? add your say.

Below I have added some examples of where we are at and to be honest I am very close to losing funding for future games for the forum. Without players in seats, I cant get the games and WE ALL miss out on opportunities to take advantage of the generosity. Without activity within the forum, I feel like I am wasting my time, including the moderators and the members that truly try with little result shown.

I have three moderators (SycoSteve, samsmoot and datsme53) willing to help members out anywhere they can. They all have knowledge, all care and dont ask for anything in return except to be able to help members. A core group of members are also in this boat and it is a shame to see the efforts of these guys and gals going to waste.

Personally I can go back to spending more time on the main site and using the funding for player promotions, for members it would mean another forum vanishes from their weekend game line up. Without activity on the forum, the less chance of players coming here to join to be part of the community and this defeats the purpose of having a forum. I could just run tracked player games directly through the main site without having to maintain anything, no deleting spammers and no need to ask for additional funds for games which may show no return to the room.

Over the last month or so the forum has had many forum games funded by Cake, Intertops and Carbon to rewards members for being part of the DMS community. We have run games including freerolls for reward club members, open to all members and several buyins with money added including a league at Cake Poker with $150 added. We decided to drop the rewards club games due the lack of numbers showing BUT in saying that we roughly had 30 members who could access the password when released. Here are a few of the participation rates and why they were dropped -

Carbon Poker $20 freeroll Rewards Club - 12 players
Carbon Poker $10 freeroll Rewards Club - 13 players
Cake Poker $25 freeroll Rewards Club - 18 players
Cake Poker $25 freeroll Rewards Club - 13 players

Cake offered $200 for a league buyin open to all members where a player needed 3 out of 4 games to get into the freeroll. Initially the bonus freeroll was $100, this was cut to $50 by them for lack of numbers. The total offered for playing 3 buyins ($6.60) was $150, the result -

Cake Poker League - 14 players qualified 3 out of 4 games ($150 added)

Intertops threw in some buyins open to all members, results -

Intertops buyin with $25 added - 10 players
Intertops buyin with $25 added - 12 players

And our latest run of results -

Cake Poker $25 freeroll (open to all) - 20 players
Tracked player $50 freeroll (Cake, Colt and HiLife Poker) - 20 players
Variations league (Carbon, Aced and PDC Poker) NLH - 5 players (They have pulled the $50 funding)

I have added a poll to this and you can have multiple votes, your votes will also remain anonymous.

For the members who are here making an effort and feel the voting poll is more for negative feedback options, what would you like to see more of or what can we add to keep you putting in the effort?

I agree, we have to start being more active on DMS. I remember (It may have been pre-black Friday) where DMS had a freeroll, but in order to qualify you needed to make a post or start a new thread every day for a certain number of days leading up to the game. Maybe something like that will help bring forum traffic?

Well to start this off i have to say to DMS that he is one of the more /most active and personel site owners i have seen in many years and the mods that he has had with him are among the best i have seen on all poker forums i can honestly say i enjoy playing poker with all on this site i cant say that about alot of other sites now that being said the forum DMS has alot to offer all poker players and with many sections to read and add inputs on it makes it a good habit to stop in and see whats going on and what DMS is offering here's a few of my IMO's

railing section of forum might need a boost to help members realize DMS forum is here to help each other out All of us DMS'ers are constantly learning about poker since BF{blackfriday} with all the new sites that are popping up or getting more usage with the restrictions on my neighbours (USA) might be a great way to find out which sites members are actually enjoying and doing well at

    2. All DMS'ers are trying and some succeeding to improve and profit from this great game of poker in order to do so we all need to make an effort to post more hands for input from all to help us better our game good hands or bad hands or even the hands that just plain confuse ya it will help DMS become more of a place to better our game of poker, with all the knowlege we know that DMS and his mods and of coarse all of us that play good poker have to offer memebers have nothing to lose by posting for hand anlasis in fact we all can only get better

on a side note to help improve memebers staying active the chat room is a great tool to be used maybe make it more noticable on site as to attract players to forum maybe having a weekly freeroll for CHATTERS i have seen this increase membership and create active members a few times over the past few years on other sites

for THE LOVE OF POKER DONT CHANGE TO MUCH DMS CAUSE THIS SITE ROCKS( IMO )

p.s i realize i am not the greatest poster on site but i add my input cause this is a great forum ill do more to help out by speaking breathing and playing poker and telling ya folks all about it cheers FROM DADS

Health reasons and only other than finacial reasons have kept me from playing the buy ins. Been disabled for the past three years without much income. But sure have honed my game thanks to DMS, and all the forum members here and have tryed to encourage others to join. So hopefully as my heallth and finaces improve maybe I could contribute sum more. Evry Forum challenge I have fought for DMS! and will also do so in future games. DMS Rocks. Dads said it all Boss and the Mods R Best enywhere!!!. Freerollbird

i was around the poker forums for a long time before DMS opened there greatness which sucked cause i had almost all rooms already signed up at so i couldn't use the links here untill some new cakes opened up like HiLife most of the players in other forums that find us after they are already in forums have already signed up for an account if the poker rooms could do something to change that aspect like if you are involved in a great foum like this you should be able to tell them you want to be tracked to this forum instead of a banner or link that was used previously i had that problem when i was an affiliate at party poker 2 years after the 2026 boom hit it was hard cause everyone had found stars and party and FTP to nmae the few first ones not sure what the solutions are to get bigger numbers into games i was in another great forum that went defunct called the PPPL and it was a great forum like this one is it had a super run of 8 years or so we had this type of leaderboard where any public freeroll you play you get point not all freeroll but ones every one can play and the leaderboards were a monthly challenge for top 3 money winners they had a calculated points system say you got 1 out of 1000 players then you would get 100% or if you got 5th out of 1000 players you would get a score in the high 90%'s you had the seven best scores in a month no matter how many games you play say like you have an 78% and the as your seventh score and you win a tourny that score would get pushed out and the 100% would be put in this system was great and it always had around 200 players posting scores and competeing if we could implement something like that as well as hold freerolls and buyins like they did more people might play the buyins and freerolls wish i could remember more but that was one of the most successful forums till leadership changed thats when it went downhill and became defunct

i had joined a lot of forums till i found here then i quit going and posting to almost all of them except here because i knew this place was just as good as my old forum bfore finding this one and i still think that it can be i have been away almost a year i had to quit the game for a bit to concentrate on making a livng playing live was mentally messes with my live game but now that my health has gotten to the point where i can't play live poker anymore i have just been playing the tops freerolls but haven't really tried hard to play well online again so i decided to come home and see what you guys have been upto well wish i could be more help than i am but i will always think of this place as home

Suggestion, get rid of the posting limits. I started posting on the forum 4? days ago, and quickly ran into a notice that I was at my limit, altho I still had comments I wanted to make. The next day I answered a few of the current posts, then tried to make this post and was again blocked. Third day, same thing. By that time I was kinda mad and discussed it via pm with admin. I understand the desire to avoid spam posting to get to a certain # of posts. This system, however, just prevents an active forum discussion. You do want an active forum, do you not? A better way would be to simply ban the spammer for a few days after the fact, if he repeats the infraction, then kick him out. Lets face it, the requirement for five posts is easy to do, what difference does it make if they are in one day or two?
