I'm going-CardPlayer Poker Tour at Atlantis All-In Poker Series in Reno 3/20-3/30/14

I am on my way to the CardPlayer All-in Series at Atlantis Casino in Reno, Nv. I have my room booked (actually comped ) booked, and although I won't be playing either of the BIG events, being played on the weekends, I will be playing a few smaller events during the week. As well as hitting the cash games! I'll also be playing morning tournaments at the Peppermill, as they run a $500 added MTT everyday at 12:30pm (except Sun. it is at 2pm.) I have done well in these games at the Peppermill over the last couple of years, and hope to continue my success. I have hopes of playing the $550 buy-in, $40,000 GTD, on 3/37/14, if I can satellite in. I'm scheduled to leave the day of that event BUT, I'll definitely stay and drive home after the game if need be. My cats won't be happy, but I'm sure they could handle a few more hours alone if need let me know if you will be there. I'll be the guy with chips, and wearing a blue NY Giants hat with a NY logo. Don't be afraid to say hi or congratulate me on the success I plan on having.

    Here is some info
on the Series from Atlantis' site:

Well, I leave for Reno in 14 hours. I plan on playing in a "$120 Survivor Event" (they rune every night of the series) tomorrow evening. SOme of the tournament formats being offered, just aren't for me.. But these "Survivor" events seem right up my alley. They will be paying basically the top 10% of the field. One person for every 10 entrants will win $1,000. I'm hoping these events draw 80-100+ players, that way a decent amount of players will get paid. If things go well, I plan on playing this nightly while I am in town! Starting stack is 10,000 chips with blinds starting at 25/50. And blinds going up every 30 minutes, with breaks every 2 hours.

I will also be playing a morning tournament everyday while in town, across the street at the Peppermill. It has $55 buy-in with $500 added! Although within the last week, they have changed it to, $300 added and (2) $100 satellite seats to a game on Sundays that awards players $1,100 seats to a $100,000 GTD Main Event they will be holding Feb 16th. I'm hoping if/when I win one of these seats, that I can sell it back to the house, or to another local (as I go home Thursday, and won't still be there on Sunday.) I guess I will see when the time comes.

In total, I plan to play 7 MTT's while in Reno as well as many hours at the cash tables. I'll report back Monday, with my progress up to that point. Thanks again everyone, for the good luck wishes. Who knows, maybe a picture of me will end up in CardPlayer Magazine or on their site. (I can wish, right?)

Well the results are in... Everything didn't go as planned, and I am honestly disappointed with the turnouts for the Atlantis events, as were many of the other players. First, the schedule of events (listed on their website) were incorrect! Blind levels weren't 30 minutes, as they advertised, but 20 minutes for the events I was interested in. The biggest turnout for one of the Survivor events while I was in town was under 50 players. I was hoping the would get better turnouts as the week went on, but they didn't. I opted to not play any of these events, which was disappointing. They advertised that they wouldn't allow players to chop, or alter the payouts structures, sticking to 1:10 players getting paid. And I wasn't to keen on the idea of 40+ players and 4 getting paid...... So I opted to play all my tournaments at the Peppermill..... But it turns out they were altering the payouts some tournaments, and others they weren't. Honestly, it was complete nonsense. I think they ultimately had to/were forced to change the payouts, otherwise some players wouldn't play them again. To top it off, the tournament staff was very uninformed, and couldn't seem to answer any of the questions I had before opting to not play.

    Sunday 23rd-

(evening)$65 buy-in/ 3 $100 seats added-- busted 11th out of 25 players. Jammed AhJh form cutoff, and SB woke up with KK and held.

    Monday 24th-

(morning)$55 buy-in/ $300 added + 2 $100 seats added-- busted 9th out of 57 players. Was one of the shorter stacks, and jammed AQ and was called by A9 and A10. Dude turned the 10 and I was out. It paid 9 places, so I made a small profit.

(evening)$65 buy-in/ 3 $100 seats added-- busted in 3rd out of 25 (I can't remember exactly) players. I shoved AQ and was called by A5. He turned a 5. SIGH... It paid $190 + the $100 seat. I worked a deal with a local who bought my seat for $50.

(Will update this later as it was a long ride home and I am tired)
