There is a member here named: Tstar33 and if he is the same player that I know from another Poker Forum he is a professional gambler. I have no proof of the professional part but that is what he claims. ME? I never gamble on anything but my poker skills which leave a lot to be desired. I'm just a cheapo, chip and a chair guy that loves the game. Win, Lose or Draw!!

I love to bet on college and nfl football. I find it easier to win on nfl games than college. Won't tell you to follow my picks, because I'm streaky as hell, but would love to trade information during football season.

I'm not much of a sports bettor, but I will make a few bets a year. Nothing crazy, just a couple $10-$20 bets. I don't follow any specific strategy or follow major sports betting sites or guru's. But I will try to gather a little info, helping me make the "right" choice, in terms of who and how I bet.

I am surprised that I see only Football being mentioned. MLB betting, especially underdog betting or 2 team parlay betting is a very lucrative for a recreational bettor.

In the MLB there are over 4800 regular season games that can be bet on. In the NFL there are only 500. This does not give you much room for error.

If I had a $2000 bankroll and I bet $20 sixteen days starting at the beginning of the season in a row on a +150 MLB team and I went 6-10 I would be up 5 units or $100. but you have 5 1/2 months left still.

If I had a $2000 bankroll and I bet $20 sixteen weeks in a row on the spread which is usually at -110 and I went 6-10 I would be up 1.45 units or $28 however that is the whole season.

Now I know that you probably bet more than 1 game a week but look at the stats, baseball you have a losing record and still have positive results, just like poker ROI is the key to success.

A lot of money can be made in the baseball season. Just food for thought!

It's easy enough to lose while betting on any sport, so you may as well bet on one you enjoy watching. And if you don't have a winning strategy, more games to bet on means more opportunity to lose money. I'd sure as hell not enjoy losing a whole bunch of money watching a whole bunch of games I'm not very interested in (which for me is baseball).

Well if you are betting on sports, you shouldn't be betting on games because you enjoy them. Your goal is to win money. I absolutely hate cricket but if a buddy of mine who is a cricket expert ( hypothetical don't actually have a cricket expert) says " hey England is going to beat Australia in cricket " I'm going to listen and not even watch it and hopefully collect my winnings. This goes for betting on your own but that is a whole other subject!
