UFC 165 Fight Card

With UFC 165 coming up on the 21st of Feb and I being a watcher/follower thought I would put up some information about the event. If you do not know what the UFC is, its the Ultimate Fighting Championship and in a nutshell is full contact mixed martial arts.

Fight Card for the event -

Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson (light-heavyweight title)
Renan Barao vs. Eddie Wineland (interim bantamweight title)
Matt Mitrione vs. Brendan Schaub
Francis Carmont vs. Constantinos Philippou
Pat Healy vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

I am especially looking forward to the Light Heavyweight Title between Jon "Bones" Jones (18 wins - 1 loss) and Alexander "The Mauler" Gustafsson (15 wins - 1 loss). I can see this being a stand up slug fest with both men having a lot of success through shear power punches but I feel that Jones with his superior take down defense will be the deciding factor in this one. My prediction is Jones to win in the 3rd by TKO (stopped by ref) and retain his title.

The rest of the card looks very lopsided with many of the fighters being paired up with fighters who are not in the same league (skill level). An example of this is the Pat Healy (31 and 5) vs Khabib Nurmagomedov (20 and 0) fight.

UFC 166 which is scheduled for Feb 20th looks to have a better card and Im sure it may improve more before fight time.

I do like MMA - those Russian Emilienko brothers impress me - but I guess they are getting on a bit now. Can you post a few vids of the upcoming fights when they've happened?

UFC 165 is in Toronto Canada at the Air Canada Centre (aka Air Cannabis Centre)

I agree, Jones will defend his title (6th consecutive time) against Gustafsson

You can watch the prelims on Facebook/YouTube at 6 pm ET
a move to FOX Sports 1 for additional prelims 8 pm ET
Then, the pay-per-view main card kicks off at 10 pm ET

Also are you looking to do a pools on these event or just what and where is this headed?

It only a pay per view event right?

be nice to get a live free feed we could watch as a group in forum or some lol

wow!! I'm not know much of the UFC in fact I'm pretty old school Boxing ; )

Just looking at the two fighters I would say Jones does show as a beautiful power but on the other hand from what I understand about the UFC is body mass can handicap a do correct me if I'm wrong in that line of think

So that would leaves Gustafsson being a faster moving correct?

any chance you got a link to their last fight?
