Carbon Poker Daily Missions = Daily $500 Freerolls

Next Carbon promotion starts Feb 1st:

This Feb, CarbonPoker is rolling out our latest mission-based promotion, Carbon Daily Missions.

Every day of the month, players have a chance to gain entry to an exclusive $500 freeroll. To get in, all you need to do is check off the required daily task. That's $15,000 up for grabs all month long.

    • Check the calendar
    • Complete the task
    • Get a freeroll coupon (within 24 hours)
    • Repeat every day of the month!

You can use the entry coupon on any $500 freeroll of your choice from Feb 1 - 31st.

In order to take advantage of this promotion you will need to opt-in to it through your Player Admin page. Look on the left side of the page for Current Promotions > Daily Missions and click the activation link. There is no freeroll on Feb 1st; the first "mission" to earn a coupon can be completed on Feb 1st. The calendar of missions required is now showing on the promotion's page.

Do you have to have some rake taken out of a pot you're in before qualifying for the cash game missions?

Also does anyone have a good strategy for using VIP points?

Yes, akorps. Carbon taking a piece of the pot, is what signifies it as a "raked" pot.

Not sure what you mean about a good strategy for using VIP's... I honestly forgot I could use them to play games..

Carbon doesn't make it very easy to since they reset your points each month. [Although they haven't zeroed out my points for Feb yet.] I forget because I usually don't have enough points to get me into anything.

The smallest VIP point buy-in I've seen on Carbon is for the $0.21 buy-in $1.10 coupon S-n-G @ 21 points.

As usual, Carbon seems to be deliberately unclear on that angle.

To be safe, you could make sure you play at least one raked hand in a cash game. But, if the way it is tracked for Daily Missions is the same
as it was for Freeroll Fury, you only have to be seated -- and dealt hole cards -- at a table where rake could be taken.

Thanks Steve! I wasted a lot of VIP points that I could have used for buyins, so I am starting to keep track of them. One skin wiped out 500 points I had, where other skins seem to leave the VIP points up indefinitely.

Carbon is the only one I am aware of that was resetting points. PokerHost doesn't; Players Only doesn't; Odds Poker doesn't. [Those are the only Merge rooms I have left besides Carbon.]

Carbon still hasn't reset points for Feb yet, so I don't know if there is a lag until that is done or maybe they've rethought that policy.

    Thanks Steve!

OK, I missed today, maybe because I only got 0.6 VIP points? Maybe you have to go over 1.0 points?

I don't have a definitive answer as to whether there is a minimum threshold or not. You could try emailing Carbon support and asking.
On the first day for qualifying [Feb 1st - cash game play] my records show only 0.22 VIP points worth of rake, so there probably is
    no minimum threshold.

It could just be that they cannot seem to get the tracking mechanism to count the cash game play for whatever reason. They are
2-for-2 on NOT picking up cash game play on days that they should. I hope that they can get their tech team rocket scientists to
get it fixed SOMETIME before the promotion ends. Getting tired of emailing support to make sure that they know.

Thanks again Steve! I got the coupons after I contacted support. I wonder if I would have got them if I just waited?
