    Continuation bets

How often should you c-bet after you raise preflop and what boards should you stay away from when c-betting? Should you take your stack size into consideration when deciding whether or not to c-bet?

i always look at the oppopnets stack size after they called a raise they might be pot committed to call a C-bet

    Re: Continuation bets

I think there are varying factors that will help me decide to do a c-bet after a pre-flop raise. Surely my stack size is a factor. If I have the stack I'm likely to fire it out there, but not into a scarey flop like 3 spades or 3 to a str8. Position is always a factor as well. If I am on the button and it's checked to me... I'm highly likely to do a c-bet no matter what I have.. as long as the flop is pretty generic. When out of position and I was the raiser pre.. I will still likely fire one out there... but will be more likely to do so if I still think my hand is strong. I think that if your going to fire a c-bet out there.. it is better to be ready to do it and fire it out there very quickly when it's your turn to bet... depending on who my opponents are that is. Mixing it up a bit tends to keep em guessing too... so don't make your c-bets too awfully predictable. Sometimes showing weakness can be your undoing, but sometimes showing weakness when your strong can payoff better.. know your opponents.

    Re: Continuation bets

When i have a decent stack i always c-bet if i have represented a strong hand pre-flop . this is important when u are playing good players i mean why slow play a good hand unless you have a crazytown game on lol or you happen to flop the nutts and want some slow play action!

if i have strong cards and/or a possible draw i will c-bet (say AK d with a two diamond ect ,if i have a weaker draw i will take my time and check) , it is not important to c-bet every hand with simular hands you have to play your table not just your cards i mix it up depending on how i feel or how others are playing a certain hand i know some players c-bet everytime but if your in a hand sometimes checking and folding is more productive than the c-bet [glow=red,2,300]everytime[/glow](loosing is okay but loose small WIN big ) ,ill shut up now lol hope everyone didn't get too [move]confused[/move] DATSMe prob said it better hes a :donkey killer

EVERYTHING needs to be taken into consideration before making any position, your chip stack, opponent chip stack, potential for your hand, opponents tightness/looseness, the perception of your tightness/looseness at the table, and then i guess your gut feeling. if youve got a good amount of chips i always like to throw a continuation bet out there.
