    Select Avatar on Registration

To combat some of the spam bots, forcing someone to select an avatar would be a human requirement and thus reducing spam by spam bots.

vB4 Select/Upload Avatar on Registration Mod

    Features:
    - Enable/Disable the Mod
    - Set an Avatar Category ID to display avatars from
    - Allow custom avatars to be uploaded
    - Chnage the maxwidth, maxheight, maxsize and enable/disable GIFs for custom avatars
    - Limit the amount of avatars to show
    - Force the user to select an avatar to successfully register (Shows error if no avatar is selected)

What I could never figure out is why sites have people register by putting in text from a nearly impossible image to read, aka Captcha "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart") ... most of the time I can't read them so some days I am computer and not human.

hopefully implementing select avatar at registration works : )

On a tangent, we used to have online reporting of incidents where we could notify the park police if there was a problem in the park. But they got so overwhelmed with spam they took the online reporting system down. I've been trying to get them to put it back up, with a spam trap, ever since, but no luck. Getting a public agency to do something can be slower than molasses

My Prof was the one who invented Captcha, along with some of his students

They have some new ones that are better, where you move shapes to fit into other shapes. Easy for the human eye, probably hard for a computer

eh, I don't mind the Captcha as long as I can read it .... to many Lvl 5 with letters overlapping or lines and blobs covering over a letter
*insert meme* ain't nobody got time for that

I imagine if the avatar suggestion doesn't work then PBT could continue to add things on the registration page that fit with the forum (such as a basic poll option of fav poker site, select country, etc) but I won't to make the registration part to long of a task.

my turn - On a tangent, most forums have a 'report post' option
oh there it on the left side under the avatar on the same line as Reply but the public very seldom uses those options
