Aced Poker Review


Overview

Aced is a new room that is quickly becoming the top room on the ever growing Merge network.  Merge in general has many unique software features and Aced offers a great new deposit bonus.  Proving that they are indeed here to stay and will be a force in online poker Aced recently signed WSOP main event champion Jamie Gold.  The competition at Aced is soft and the rakeback and initial deposit bonus make it a great place to start building your bankroll!

Initial Deposit Bonus

Aced Poker offers a 100% matching bonus up to $500 on all first deposits that use Aced Poker bonus code “ACED100″.  To release your Aced Poker bonus you must earn Comp Points by playing in tournaments and ring games.  Aced has a unique method of handing out Comp Points called their “Outs” program.  The Outs program awards Comp Points based on you completing different tasks in Aced poker games.  There is a whole list of cash game and tournament outs that earn you Comp Points.  For example if you win three hands in a row at a cash game you earn 25 Comp Points or if you win an ‘All In’ bet you earn 50 Comp Points.  In tournaments some examples would be if you make the final table of a multi-table tourney you earn 100 points or if you build your chip stack to $100K you earn 20 comp points.  Every 250 Comp Points you ear is equivalent to $1 of your bonus.  The bonus is then released in $5 increments every time 1250 points are earned.  Any part of your bonus that you have not cleared after 60 days will be forfeit.

Promotions

  • Royal Flush Bonus – Hit a royal flush using your hole cards in any Texas hold’em ring game and win a bonus of 100 times the big blind.
  • Four Aces Bonus - If you get four of a kind aces using at least one of your hole cards in any Texas hold’em ring game, you win a bonus of 40 times the big blind.
  • Refer-a-Friend – You and your friend each gain entrance to a $25K freeroll, plus you receive another $25.
  • Freerolls – Earn Comp Points to qualify to play in daily $1000, weekly $2K & $10K and monthly $50K freeroll tournaments.  For example to play in the $50K monthly freeroll players must have earned 5000 comp points that month.

Tournaments

Aced is a great room for low buy-in tournaments.  Most tourneys are below $20 so it’s a good room if your bankroll is around $500 or below.

The sit and go tournaments at Aced take longer than most rooms to fill and you would be hard pressed to find a sit and go for over $30.  Aced has a lot of bounty tournament sit and go’s where half of your buy-in goes to the main prize pool and the other half goes to the player who knocks you out.  Aced would be a good room for you, if you are into the low-buy bounty tournaments.

Cash Games

Aced offers a very wide variety of cash games, with the NL hold’em tables having games up to $3/$6.  Aced also offers Omaha, 7 Card Stud, razz, HORSE, 5 card stud, 5 card draw, triple draw and badugi, but it is rare to find many games at these tables.  Some of the players per flop percentages are very high, which should translate into Aced being a profitable poker room for solid players.

If you find yourself in the mood to gamble, Aced also offers many casino games including blackjack, roulette and Caribbean stud, as well as video poker and backgammon.

Software & Graphics

Aced has solid software and graphics with many extra features that are exclusive to Merge network rooms.  These include rabbit hunting, the option to expose one hole card and the option to deal it twice on select tables.  The tables are resizable with no loss in the quality of graphics.  Avatars are not used, but players are allowed to upload pictures.

Competition

Aced is a new site on a relatively new network, Merge, which gained its player base by attracting many freeroll tournament players.  On average freeroll players are below average because they have not been able to build a bankroll themselves and instead need to look for free tournaments to get them started.  For this reason you can find a lot of soft competition at Aced. There are a lot of loose players and a tight aggressive player could easily build a poker bankroll here with solid play.
